Second goal

Russo wins this round, curious to see where he goes in the mid-season addition, in all honesty this is about where I have him anyway.

Hulking D-man Nedomlel is the add, hope he gets a good turn in GR this year, hard to see it happening right now, might be Russo's partner in Toledo.

As always vote, discuss and offer an add if you have one.

Somehow I liked what I saw from Chase Pearson at dev.camp videos. Also, when I read that article about the wingspan, this guy came first in my mind. He really looked like a guy with "2meter hands" which could do some damage in NHL.

Been voting him for few rounds already until Russo arrived.

Realistically speaking, I think Paterson is the only one left that has a real chance of being a future NHL player. And I don't even think very highly of him.

I don't think this is far to say about the guys we drafted in the 4th-7th rounds of the draft. Guys like JVP, Pearson, and Holway have not even had an opportunity to prove themselves in a meaningful league. And then there is Marsh who did well in juniors despite all of his off ice problems.

Went with Kadeykin again. I too can't understand how you can reach a hard and fast judgment about the later round guys that we just drafted.

JVP, add Marsh.

I fear Kadeikin will basically lose another year playing 5 minutes a game for SKA. He has a lot of potential but is not in a good place development-wise.

Happened to check out this thread and saw that Vähätalo is actually a Detroit prospect, which is news to me. 6th round pick from 2014, height is great at 6'6 but he seems to have trouble putting on enough weight in that frame, though 198 lbs is better than nothing. The likely reason is that he's still growing.

I read some interview about him and he seems to have the mental side down alright, realized how much more he needs to work to have any chance of an NHL career and is otherwise a pretty humble guy too. It's like he's a dreamy prospect on paper but for some reason he's still playing on the 4th line in TPS, which has not been a good team in the Finnish league in the recent years. His first camp at Detroit he had just been cleared from five broken vertebrae.

If he has stopped growing then he could get ready for NHL with a year or two of gym training from hell.

Yeah I thought he was coming over this year and really wanted to play in NA.

At least that's what I remember from the draft reports...

Any reason on why he stayed in the KHL?
