I didn't "saw" from first person a guy who destroyed a promising career.

I did see a guy from my neighborhood who made the big leagues, name of Dominik Hasek.

(Tis true. My son hung out with Michael Hasek and Hank Van Boxmeer, not even fully appreciating who their fathers were at the time...)
