No 1st line center and the fact he has been on fire for the last month.

He's not exactly facing stiff competition when only Stajan has more experience. Which isn't to take away from the fact that Backlund has been playing very well. I finally have hope again that he can become a decent 2nd line option.

Lack will be starting for the Canucks tonight. Also, Lack has been playing great as of late. I'd even say that you'd probably have a better chance to win if Luongo was starting. That's how good Lack has been.

Unfortunately being a top line NHL center and being the best center on the Flames are two very different things.

Like Hudlinator pointed out, his play of late has been solid. 27 goal scorer!
