Hes replacing Smith. Neither of them do that much, and Ashton has higher upside.

Been saying for awhile the Leafs need a real 4th line C, Smith isn't going to cut it. Here's hoping that Winnik works out in that spot and he can stay there permanently.

Derek Roy was just placed on waivers by Nashville. His contract is up at the end of the season, and makes just 1M.

He hasn't been doing too bad. 10 points in 26 games. Has an 50> CF% this season too, so he could help in that regard.

that wouldn't bother me too much. he's servicable. and i like Smith but i think he'd be better than Smith
