If the trade calls are made at the same time, I don't see the problem here

Predictions:

(1) Jost, Zadorov, and Graves are not traded.

(2) AJ Greer + 2020 3rd round pick for Namestnikov; or

(3) Kamenev + 2020 3rd for Namestnikov.

Actually, I would not be surprised to see Joe stand pat or make a simply acquire a depth goalie for a mid-round pick acquisition.

I think some of these selling GMs will likely overplay their hand. I would not be surprised if some of them are expecting Sakic to cave and pay high prices at the last minute, which would indicate that they lack historical awareness.

With how tight checking game Stars and Blues play, I suspect Sakic might want players who can handle it. Avs have to go through one or both of them to go deep. No way around it. Kreider is the obvious available player that can handle playoff checking but he's might be too costly to get.

JGP should be fine. He's not a big guy but plays with energy, purpose and is surprisingly hard to get the puck from.

Seems like reasonable predictions. I think it's unlikely that Montreal move any reasonably high draft picks though as it seems that they're stockpiling to have a big draft in Montreal this summer.

As Sakic said most deadline deals don't work out.

Our defense is playing amazing right now. No need to change that.

Our offense will eventually get Rantanen, Kadri and Calvert back.

Frankie is playing lights out.

If we can get a forward with term for Jost and a 2nd we may do it.

I expect Sakic to add a cheap vet goalie and maybe a Burakovsky- Lite type forward addition for cheap.

It's crazy to think even if Sakic pulled off a miracle and acquired both JGP and Kreider at the deadline our current lineup would still look pretty sparse due to injuries.
