Insurance. Same reason Calgary picked up Wamsley back in the day. Fresher goalie in the playoffs increases chances to win.

Prorated cap space is peanuts. Compliance buy out is 1.5 million.


But mostly because I like to be the contrarian. I don't think there's a market for Kipper.
