Movies: DC green lights first Joker movie(Joaquin Phoenix-3 others in development)

So is this going to be like "Venom" with the villain/anti-hero but no Spider-Man? Joker but no Batman?

Meh. DC movies need to really nail a blockbuster for me to get excited about them again.

Why are they making two movies consecutively with different actors who are around the same age playing the same role?

I think Phoenix will be awesome in the role (as he normally is) but I have no idea what DC is doing here.

Not sure how an origin movie with Phoenix works--Maybe Leto was too crazy during Suicide Squad for DC to feel safe him doing an entire movie?--They are both about the same age
