I recently found out that Sony is in their Days Gone IP into a movie for any familiar with the source material you know that's going to be tough to do right.
The reason for that is because unless this movie is ridiculously long,, long enough where nobody can be expected to watch it because It's to long you can't fproperly fit in all the characters and there are no real minor characters you can discard.
I mean you got
Decon
Boozer
Sarah
Iron Mike
Rikki
Addy
Skizzo
Tucker
Alakai
Copland
Manny
Kori
Weaver
Cornel Garrett
Carlos/Jessee
Taylor
Doc J
Obrien
Lisa
That's 19 characters, none of them being minor except maybe Manny and Taylor but even Taylor is somewhat important
I would suggest to you the only one thay you might be able discard is Manny, the rest you need.
And you can't cram 18 significant characters into any reasonably length movie._
That's why I think this needs to be a series because anyone familiar with the source material knows that there aren't a ton of characters you can discard other than potentially Manny.
A series would be a better option here because there is just to many characters for a movie.
And That's just the characters you see there are others like Jack that are only mentioned
