Instead of graciously thanking his team for their superb regular season which played into him being one of three finalists for coach of the year award, he brushed all that aside and was even irritated that he was considered. That was a slap to the face to his players.

I believe that Darryl Sutter deserved to win the Jack Adams award. I also believe that him saying that he didn't care if he's win it or not made him a winner because the NHL likes to fix things for PR. Look how they made a pretty story of the John Scott NHL All-Star game.
