..Why are the Oilers trading him? He is coming off a 40 point season and is only getting better..
They have 4-5 second pairing defensemen and need to upgrade some of them. Most of them are under contract whereas Nurse is a year away from being overpaid. Hasn't shown meaningful progression defensively so he's a prime "sell high" candidate, imo.
The Oilers would be better off moving Larsson but there's no value there.
Only reason to move nurse would be for a stellar winger. Anything less would be trash.
Which carries extra value because he has the best nickname in the leagueWe’ll ship you a barely used, repackaged Tatar for Nurse

I'm just curious , if he was on a better team would his numbers and play reflect a better player ?
Or is he simply overrated ?
He'd be better defensively due to being sheltered. He'd put up fewer points due to not being on the ice with McDavid. Also probably wouldn't get PP time.
The Oilers need to be trading a lot of players way before Nurse is even considered. They couldn't package him for an upgrade on defense because the Oilers can't afford the salary the upgrade comes with
Well I think I speak for many when I say its obvious that you don't represent the Oilers best interestThey have 4-5 second pairing defensemen and need to upgrade some of them. Yea? How do you plan on filling out the rest of the roster? We can add ~$10 million easy.

Discount the entire Oiler’s team 25% because “McDavid”... GTFO!He'd be better defensively due to being sheltered. He'd put up fewer points due to not being on the ice with McDavid. Also probably wouldn't get PP time.
