Scott Darling has saved all 43 shots that he has faced in his 2 OT games, while Crawford has saved all 49 that he has faced. Why is it that the Blackhawks goalies are so good in OT?

No Timonen/Rundblad/Cumiskey much in OT

+ reality is both have had good playoff. Despite a lot of the bashing of Crawford he is having a good playoff run since getting back in vs Preds

Corey Crawford is a poor mans 'Chris Osgood'.

And I say that with the utmost respect for Crawford.

Because the Black Hawks score before they can get scored on so their stats look perfect.

I actually think Comiskey has settled in nicely, looks more comfortable every game.

Crawford won't pass the eye-ball test, but he seems to get it done when it counts. No style points, just wins.

Really?

Osgood was never really a starting goaltender..... Crawford is waaay better than Ozzy.

IMO, Crawford is more of a Billy Smith or a Bill Ranford - not in style - but in role.....

He managed to become 11th all time in wins without being a starter? That's pretty impressive ;)

? :help:

Osgood had 7 seasons of 50+ starts in regular season and was primary starter for Wings/Isles/Blues in 9 playoff years

Crawford is no Osgood. He's better than most believe and has carried the team this season and many times in the past. When he has bad stretches they are sloppy and most are quick to notice these instead.

All respect to Osgood though he's also underrated for what he was and accomplished.

Here we go...

I hope you're not saying that because Chris Osgood had a different goalie style than the norm at the time.

This isn't a Osgood vs Crawford thread both are great goalies who have often been overlooked by what they have accomplished despite being successful
