Its pretty much a wash in my opinion.

I think Kuemper is probably slightly better. Hes also slightly older than Grubauer. Both seem to get injured or miss quite a few games pretty regularly.

I’m an Avs fan who was pretty vocal about preferring Kuemper to Grubauer long before July 28th but there’s certainly arguments for either.

I’m happier with Kuemper but Grubauer is a good goalie. He’s just failed miserably in important games.

Kuemper’s injury history is scary but Grubauer set a career high in games played this year with just 40 so it’s not like he’s proven he can play a full season either.

Kuemper has been pretty good after leaving Minnesota, but this is still Grubauer.
Grubauer is a fantastic goalie with fantastic stats, but he has let our team down when we needed him to step up on more than one occasion. Kuempers turn now to see if he can help the avs get over the hump

I was just about to post the same thing. This whole poll is so laughable it's crazy!

Who do you think is better?

EDIT: Sorry, just saw you voted for Kuemper here. And Gru for the 8th spot in the overall ranking, over Kuemper. What changed in the last two weeks?

Kuemper’s numbers will be inflated playing behind Colorado’s defence, just like Grubauer’s were.

The only thing I don’t know about Kuemper is if he can avoid the stinker games when it matters. Grubauer can’t.

Defenses really. I think they are really close in ability and I was one of Grubauers biggest supporters as you can see by my avatar but I’ve seen Kuemper take an average coyotes team and carry them on this back into the playoffs and I’ve seen Grubauer struggle in big games with the avs and caps when they needed him most. We will soon see how good they both are on opposite ends of the spectrum and I honestly think Kuemper can get the avs over the hump if he’s fully healthy and on one of the best teams in the league

Is there an easy way to check the polls year over year? Those must be all over the place for positions outside the top 5.
Markstrom was regarded really high the season before no?

Playing behind Seattle instead of a powerhouse will hurt Grubauer's stock a lot I believe. Kuemper is used to play on bad to average teams, so it would not surprise me if his stats look awesome this year (if he can stay healthy). Both Grub and Kuemp are pretty unproven in the playoffs... imo it's a bit of a coin toss, but at least Kuemper has 1 year left if things go sour.

I think Kuemper is a better goalie, but his injury history makes him a question mark. The only reason he fell behind so much in that goalie poll is recency bias and the injury questions.
Only reason I picked Grub.

Kuemper has only played over 30 games once in his entire career.
He's also 31. I don't imagine he becomes more durable as he ages.

He's like a more-injury prone Manny Fernandez if that's somehow even possible.

Rick Diepietro was like one of the most injured goalies I can ever remember, and he played 319 games? Kuemper is only at 242.
He might not even catch up to Diepietro in GP
