Will have to wait and see on the guarantees - Derek Carr just got a "3 year deal" last year, after all - but the Giants were in a tough spot with Jones. Still don't think he's a guy that'll put you over the top but maybe you can surround him with enough talent to make some noise, though that gets more difficult with a QB on a non-rookie deal.

Carr not even a 3 year deal. More like 2 years for $70 mill, but leaves the saints with $14 mill of dead cap on top of the $10 mill they eat for his roster bonus in 2025. They are not taking a $47 mill cap charge on Carr for 2025. Either a cut or restructure.

Same as Geno. $105 mill first reported but now it’s more $25 mill bae salaries with bonuses and incentives for the other $30 mill.

Guess it’s basically 2 years for Jones for around the non exclusive tag money.

You can surround Jones with pieces and get out of the NFC.

There it is. First two years fully guaranteed, so they should be able to get out of it after those 2 years if it goes bad.

True but they still are much further behind the Niners, Eagles, and Cowboys. Thjnk they will be behind the Lions too.
It doesn't take much. If you look at the NFC in the past decade or so, most but not all, year 2 of the program is when teams are getting to the Super Bowl. And they won a playoff game this year, so they have good reason to believe they will be as good as anyone else in the conference.

$195 million GTFOH

Schefter said the incentive arent even difficult to get to allow for that amount.
Chill and check back in with spotrac in 48 hours to see the contract details. Remember Carr and Geno the past day? Big difference in the real numbers when you dig into the details.

If he’s allowed to achieve it, it’ll likely be worth it.

A lot of money for someone not everyone is convinced by. I just think he has a low ceiling and has never put a full season of greatness together.

Feels like a QB people make excuses for. Where his receivers elite? Probably not but QB's on his sort of money make it work and get the best out of them.

A lot of money now tied up on him and Saquon with the tag. This contract is only a few million less per year than Mahomes.

Always wait on the full details. $195 mill is the max as Geno’s $105 mill yesterday. Probably a 2 year deal for a floor of $60-$65 mill.

I realize top QBs make this $. I'm just not sure if Jones is a top QB.
