Which franchise Icon was the better hockey player (entire career)?
This is going to be locked quick
Hawerchuk was an incredible player and absolutely made his linemates better but Iginla was my favorite players for many years.
I give Iginla my vote but have zero argument with those voting Hawerchuk.
There's really no wrong answer to this one. Two fantastic players
Hawerchuk was much better.
I'm aware Iginla has a Ross but realistically he was playing for a crap team that solely focused on feeding him points for the last 30 games of the season.
Iginla was a better goal scorer and more physical though.
As if Hawerchuk was playing on good teams?
Art Ross, Lindsay, two Richards. Hard to go against
I was a jets fan living in winnipeg in the 80's. I'm fully aware of what Hawerchuk had to work with.
That being said Iginla in 2002 was force fed the Ross by his team. Not that I have a problem with this I only pointed it out to say that while Iginla was great that year I wouldn't say he was the best player in the game despite winning the ross.
