Not sure how much his this season stats are reality and how much are the fact that because he plays for Lafreniére's Rimouski.
Hopefully he is the real deal, i suppose after the season when all of their top players leave, we'll know.

So far: 2 goals, 15 assists, 17 points, +7 | 1.42 ppg | 1+8=9 in the PP | 1 GWG
- pretty dope stats for a 16 year old rookie d-man

Not that it makes a huge difference since he is technically 16 for another couple weeks, but it’s actually considered his 17 year old season as he’s a late birthday 2002 born. He only played in one game last season.

I know, but still... its pretty dope season what he is having as a rookie.

haven't had a chance to watch him yet, how good is he? are his current stats highly inflated by Lafreniere?

Absolutely inflated by Lafreniere, but definitely no denying his offensive skills as well. He’s very quick and sees the ice great, especially on the PP. He’s a weird prospect as he kind of came out of no where with a great 16 year old season after being cut from Rimouski. These offensive skills were not this evident before. He will be one of those guys you won’t be able to judge properly until next season when Lafreniere is gone

As a rookie this kid has 23pts in 18 games... sure he’s playing with Lafreniere but those are outstanding numbers for a 16 year old defenceman.

He’s putting up numbers as a D-2 dman that are reminiscent to numbers you’d put up in NHL 20’s be a pro mode.
It’s actually his D-1. He could have made Rimouski last season and is a late birthday.

An impressive season regardless

I’ve been paying close attention to him and it’s very good to see that he’s not just some product of Lafreniere. There’s no doubt playing often behind that dominant line is highly responsible for his otherworldly numbers, but he’s a legitimately excellent transitional and puck handling defenseman with great skating, a decent frame and no major defensive warts. Time to get excited, perhaps. Definitely a strong first round contender.

He's been terrific. I don't care so much about his points (most of which come from playing the point on that top PP unit), but the way he came in and established himself as the most important Dman on the team as a rookie is very impressive. I thought not having a great puck-moving D was going to be a major weakness of the Océanic going into the season, but he single-handedly alleviated that concern.

Agreed, I was fully expecting them to make a big trade for that number one puck-moving defenseman.
