We have 16/20 players who have made it to the conference finals or the finals. Tons of playoff experience and preformers. One of the top goalies in the league if not the best at the moment. Defensively We have a very strong, physical, and offensive group of guys. Our top6 have some of the best players in the NHL with a great mixture of grit, speed, toughness, talent, setting up players and finishing. Bottom 6 is very deep with everyone going to the finals but prust.

We feel that our forwards can go toe to toe with Chicago's, matching them in top end skill, depth, and defensive ability. While we may not have the flashy top pairing like Chicago, we have an incredibly deep blue-line featuring some great young defenders, as well as solid depth. Our goaltending compares favorably as well, as Lehtonen can be a top ten goaltender when he's on his game. Led by veterans like Zdeno Chara and Andrew Ladd (both of whom have had great success in the playoffs), we feel that this team can and will go all the way.

The Achilles' heel of that great Chicago team may be having these three starters on the blueline:

Andrej Sustr, Marc Methot, Nikita Nesterov.

They just don't scream championship material. One of them, sure, sheltered minutes. But all three?

The real-life Blackhawk blueline is better! Why the change?

Vancouver has a blueline advantage in the series.

But I guess if Chicago loads minutes on the Big-Three blueliners and its depth of scoring benefits them, then the series could go the other way.

Methot is good. Also some of the original CHI defenseman were not worth the cap like Rozival and Oduya.

I don't know why you think Methot is bad for the team. He's a good 3/4 d-man. The other two suck, but he increased his forwards, by getting rid of Oduya, replacing him with Methot and downgrading a little on the the 5th and 6th d-man.

What they said. Methot is a solid #3/4 defender. I'll admit Sustr and Nesterov aren't the best addition for a playoff team but it was the price I had to pay to have a leathal forward crop, a backup who is capable of handling playoff starts and a good 4th defender (methot). Keep in mind Sustr and Nesterov have been decent for TBL in real life this season.

Timonen & Zidlicky at the trade deadline sure'd help the Chicago blueline.;)

The real-life Blackhawks made a couple of interesting moves int he opposite direction than you did: shoring up defense instead of going for offensive depth.

It's an interesting contrast!

Note to rebuilders the roster limit is 15 F 8 D and 3 G
I have assembled that, exactly.

Plus the 2015 NHL draftees from today.

A starting line-up that celebrates those recent past prospects who are among the minority of picks every year to successfully make the jump to the NHL level of play:

Tyler Myers - Cam Fowler (C)
David Rundblad (A) - Sami Vatanen
Nathan Beaulieu - Hampus Lindholm
