Dhabs98 GM Game Awards

Cups.jpg

The Selanne Trophy

This trophy goes to the newest GM who shows great potential and performed admirably. The winner of this award is Tryamkin for his work with the Detroit Red Wing. While might have lost out on a few players in the trade market he never let that get to him and always tried again for other players. His knowledge on prospects is admirable and his passion is strong, with those two factors in mind there is no doubt his future is bright and the league is happy to honor that fact.

Trade Broker Award

This trophy goes to the GM who is also working on making deals to improved his team. This award goes to HKYPro77 and Weylspin . While the Ducks had a good core to work with they lacked the depth needed to contend for the cup. HKYPro77 got down to work and was constantly working the trades lines in order to improve his team. He was able to add many top players like Jordan Eberle, Zach Parise and Ryan Suter. His 17 player deal is a testament of his hard work and for that work he gets the Trade Broker Award. Weylspin has been a busy GM in this game. From rebuilding the Avalanche to tring to contend with the Canadiens he has been hitting the trade lines nonstop and in return for his efforts he was able to add the likes of Meier, Teravainen, Vasilevski and Provorov on a team that already has the likes of Mackinnion. For the Habs we was able to address the toughness questions with the additions of Matt Greene, Cal Clutterbuck and Dustin Byfuglien. For his efforts he gets the Trade Broker Award as well.

The Produce Trophy

In honor of former GM this trophy goes to the one GM who improved his team dramatically from the start of the game to the end. It has been a wild season for the Anaheim Ducks, while they are finally turning things around and becoming the cup contending team they were thought it be, HKYPro77 ensured that there would be no question that the ducks were indeed cup contenders. He finally found a top line winger for Perry and Gezlaf in Zach Parise and improved the Ducks forward group by adding the likes of Vanek and Eberle. The defense group also was improved with the additions of Tyler Myers, Nick Leddy and Ryan Suter, While HKYPro77 might have joined the game late, he surely made up for lost time with all of his trades.

The Up Everyday Every Night Award

This award goes to most active GM throughout the game. This award goes to Paneerboy . He is on chatzy every single day even when it's in the morning and he is usually the last one to leave chatzy. Throughout the game he has been a busy trader and constantly worked the phone lines to improve his team in the long run.

The Brad Marchand Award

This award goes to the GM who like Marchand, was irritating yet demonstrated skill and was effective. This award goes to HabsFanFromOntario who despite joining late was able to improve the Flyers drastically with the additions of Okposo, Zetterberg and Landeskog. and he did it in style as he lit up chatzy with is personality.

The Hoarder Award

This award goes to the GM who owns the most draft picks in the draft. This award goes to NYR84 whose Winnipeg Jets had a total of 7 draft picks including 5 in the first round which is a direct result of the trades he made to brighten the future of the Jets.

ANNOUNCEMENT

The Calgary Flames and Buffalo Sabres simultaneously released press announcements this gloomy Monday evening to announce changes in management. Both clubs fired their GM, who awkwardly enough have the same name, after he failed to make the Stanley Cup Playoffs or go very far in the rebuilder cup. The clubs were willing to overlook this aspect, but the thing that drove them to make this change was the lack of hardware in any form after they failed to come away with any of the honorary trophies. They apologize to their fan bases for their ineptitude but would like to thank Donghabs for all the work he did before they are banished from their duties forever.

Well at least you didn't get the Brad Marchand award. ;)

On behalf of the New York Islanders I would like to thank Wey on a hard fought series, to all rebuilders who made this a very entertaining playoffs and to everyone who voted for the Islanders. This moment wouldn't have been possible without you.

:jets Gladly accept the Hoarder award. Thank you to Donghabs for this prestigious award. ;)

ACTUALLY, the very post at the end of the draft stated the Winnipeg Jets do NOT own the Montreal Canadiens' 2nd round pick, and dong awarded them Kale Clague.

This means that the Jets had 6 picks in the second round (as opposed to 7) and, coincidentally, a certain Maple Leaf team had 6 picks as well.

You know what this means. AWARD-SPLIT!

Looks like another "participation trophy" will be added to my shelf. Someday I will win most sportsmanship or something along those lines...

I would like to thank SJSharks39 on a hard fought series and to all GMs who voted in the playoffs, this game's playoffs was probably the most closest one since I started running GM games back in 2011. I would also like to thank everyone who participated, this game was a lot more successful than I anticipated and that is because of your guys hard work and activity. With that in mind I officially declare this game finished.
