According to Tyler Wright of the Wings he had several scouts come up and tell him afterwards they were interested and had hoped to take him late 2nd/early 3rd, so it would seem they made a good choice to take him when they did.

He's not really an offensive defenseman. He's a stay at home type with somewhat heavy feet. Future bottom pairing guy, I'd say.

I'm interested to see this guy play. Hes never produced any offense anywhere really but he was a fairly high pick and the wings organisation has always been pretty high on him. Hes improved pretty steady all year in the AHL.
