You won’t be winning the President’s Trophy, but you’ll be winning quite a few playoff series with those two beasts leading the way.

I realize relegation is not possible in the NHL but I would add some special punishment for finishing dead last. Not only would your chances be the same as the 8th placed team for winning lottery but you would also be forced to wear a jersey with a huge L on the front the following season. Get creative. Motivate teams to compete. The most dangerous teams in European soccer are actually last placed teams fighting to stay in the top flight. I’m happy we’re at least losing with compete.

I think Petry is conflicted. He was injured, got off to a terrible year, hated DD with a passion, got injured again, finally asked for a trade then DD got fired and things got better under MSL.
