We used to discuss THE Crosby vs Ovechkin question for so many times here and there.

I did some research to find out how good they are one vs one (Ovechkin line vs Crosby line). Then they are both on the ice. Best player vs best player.

Hereunder are the stats. All stats are at even strength. Decide by yourself who is the best/lucky or whatever you want:

(*) I do not have the stats for 2005/06 and 2006/07 regular seasons. Crosby and Ovechkin played 8 games one vs one these seasons and ended up with +4 and +3 '+/-' stat respectively. I assume stats does not change much in these seasons. If you have correct stats for 2005/06 and 2006/07 regular seasons, please post them here in this thread.

The table on here is too congested, however, the +/- for each stat is what you're arguing I take it.

I don’t know if this is an attempt to say Ovechkin is better than Crosby, however, give me any situation and I’d rather have Crosby.

That being said, Crosby is still the better player.

And if you're a coach giving one of the best players in the world crazy D zone starts, should you even be employed?

not only that but its not like ovechkin is head and shoulders better than crosby even in this weird sample size. Same amount of regular season points and 2 less in the playoffs. Just a bizarres post. Additionally, looking at the ice time together and just using basic vanilla metrics like goals/assists/points/hits/takeaways to evaluate things screams of an idea that someone thought of and decided to put minimal effort into.
