The only similarities between McDavid is Crosby are their generational status and being hyped at a very young age. They are nowhere near similar in play style.

Kane and Gaudreau pretty easily.

Crosby and McDavid are not really similar at all. Crosby is an ultra skilled grinder while McDavid is more of a Dangler/Playmaker hybrid with generational speed.

A young Sidney Crosby would crash the net just like 97 now with similar puck handling at high speeds and very skilled high iq playmaker like 97.

As an example this is what young Sid would do. Very similar to McDavid of today.

I really don’t think either pair is really all that similar in terms of play style. Gaudreau and Kane are only similar in the aspect that they’re both highly skilled undersized wingers. They actually play the game quite differently. Gaudreau seems to like to use his speed a lot more to capitalize on the rush. Kane likes to slow the game down in the offensive zone and force everyone else play his game.

It was hilarious when McDavid was drafted and people said his play style was like Crosby’s. Nothing alike at all.

McDavid is like if you took Patrick Kane, gave him Pavel Bure’s speed strength, then made him a centre.

That pass at :20 of the first video is flipping ridiculous.

The funny thing is that when Crosby first came into the league he drew a lot of Bure comparisons. Before his high ankle sprain he was one of the fastest and most dynamically skilled players with the puck. 2006-07 Crosby is possibly the most exciting player I've ever watched.

That being said, Gaudreau and Kane are more similar overall.

There is no similarity between sid and Mac really stupid poll
When did you start watching hockey? Not Crosby now but Crosby at the beginning when he used his speed. Crosby today is a far smarter hockey player than he was at the beginning and far smarter than McDavid of today.

The two tandems really aren't similar at all.

Crosby and Gaudreau are actually the most similar when it comes to their approach to the game. They are definitely the more cerebral players of the bunch. They like to make quick plays and both have generational anticipation. They prefer to set up plays from below the goal line and excel at scoring those garbage goals around the net.

Kane and McDavid rely much more on physical gifts (speed & hands).

Kane doesn't rely on speed.
