News Article: Coyotes looking to host outdoor game

Throw a bone at the East Valley "fans" and have it at Sun Devil Stadium...

SDS will be in the middle of renovations for the next few years around the time these games are traditionally held.

That was my initial thought to, but if we could fill the stadium, then we could finally give all the Canadian media the middle finger. I'm Canadian, but I would be first in line. Redemption baby!

While I think having an outdoor game would be great fun for everyone in PHX and the visitors it brings, I'm still waiting for the All-Star game that Bettman had used as a carrot to the fans so many years ago (just prior to the 2004-2005 lockout).

I find myself not really caring much about the prospect of an outdoor game here or really anywhere else for that matter. I think the NHL should've stuck with the Winter Classic and left it at that.

I know there will be issues with renovation but I think Sun Devil Stadium would offer the best sight lines for an outdoor hockey game. Then again I've never been to one.

LeBlanc has hinted in interviews before that he thinks it will be here the year after the Super Bowl. They stated during the initial press conference that we would get one eventually. So my guess is Jan 2016.
