Wilf Paiement actually wore 99 for three seasons with the Leafs (1979-80, 1980-81 & 1981-82).

Rick Dudley of the Winnipeg Jets also donned number 99 for part of the 1980-81 season.

Gretzky, Paiement and Dudley are the only players to have ever worn 99 in the NHL.
