hey guys! I am no legal buff but could the NHL, after a long unreasolved conflict close doors, to restart a new league with their own new rules and salaries? Then just sign free agents into team?

Can this be done at all? I read the other day the WHA ceo denying offers by the NHL for a buyout! Could they be looking for drastic options?

Any of you guys can think of any options the nhl could have if the players won't budge?

ANYWAY, One borring winter comming up here!

cheers

The WHA is just desperate, creating rumours here and there. The NHL might just be smart, and scare the players a bit with their big words. The answer is probably going to be revealed this coming year.

I dont think they could do that...The NHLPA would disallow and look down upon any player who probably joined this alternate league....To see how the union has power over the players, look at how Steve Thomas retracted his approval of a salary cap the next day!
