Cost Certainty allows removal of tax breaks?

If they get a cap, is it time to remove all the tax exemptions sports teams get? The write offs for suites, The property tax breaks, all the subsidies. After all, they have the magic salary cap. Buildings will be full, everyone will be happy, all teams will be winners and profitable, and players take whatever their share of the revenues is. So why is it important that hockey or any sports teams, a true luxury in society, should get out of paying their fair share of taxes? They should be paying the most.

The tax breaks, usually extorted by the owners from cities to save their business preventing angry voters, a business which the city needs or it will leave and they lose all tax money, well they dont these any more do they?

So if they have cost certainty. that means property taxes are paid on ALL arenas, no tax write offs, arena grants, slots licenses, development subsidies of any kind. Its no longer needed. Right? Fair is fair.

Many advertisers will now have hockey advertising value certainty. It must have been hard to tell how much advertising at an NHL game helped. Now they will know. THey will be able to spend much wiser in the future.

No pro-cap person has ever stated that will be the case. Please stop mis-representing things.

Since Canadian teams usually have none of those things that US teams often get, yes, the fair thing would be to make it the same for all.

Who said anything about a salary cap? The owners would never ask for a salary cap, because they know that would never be accepted by a sports union. They are asking for cost certainty. Are they really the same thing?

If owners have cost certainty, it is very related whether any of the tax breaks they won through extortion are needed.

So how far from perfect will a cap leave us? Will some teams be still losing money? Will some teams still be threatened to move? Will some teams not be able to afford players? Will someteams miss the playoffs for many consecutive years? Will it be kind of like the result of the players proposal?

I would never approve of tax breaks/incentives for a professional sports team anyway. It would be nice if most/all of those were rolled back completely. A lot of the jobs they probably claim to have "created" were likely wiped out with this 'lockout'.
