This has always beeny favourite Gretzky fact. I can't fathom how anyone can name someone else as the greatest to ever play.

He will not get 47 points in the final 19 games. No way. This will be an October 2024 thread. Not an April 2024 thread. But still very special to be doing this. Obviously Gretzky and Lemieux hit 1000 points before 30, but how many others did? Bossy did. I believe Savard did. Crosby was 29. So yeah it is quite special to do this and still be just 27.

About a year ago, I was thinking that McDavid would be 100th player to get 1000 points. But now it looks like he's 99th since Kessel didn't get a contract for this season.
