As far as I can tell, his best 21 game stretch was split over two seasons: the final 14 games of 2020-2021 and the first 7 games of 2021-2022, when he scored a total of 52 points.
So it’s pretty unlikely he gets to 1000 points this season at this point. I think he scores about 40 more to finish with 140. He almost assuredly reaches 1000 within the first two weeks of the 2024-2025 season while still just 27 years old.
Assuming his health holds, by the end of next season, while having turned 28 for just a few months, he’ll also very likely already be 66th in all-time points (Sittler will be 65th with 1121 points once Stamkos passes him with 13 more points).
And if we really want to look ahead in the short-term, while not being aggressive with the point projections, 40 points more this year, 130 next year, then a drop to 110 and 50 in 40 or so first half games in 2026-2027, would see him sitting with 1280 career points before turning 30 years old, which would be just 1 point behind #41 Delvecchio (Malkin, Kane, Kopitar, and Stamkos should all jump Delvecchio by that point).
If he makes it to even 1212 before turning 30, the only player in history with more is of course Gretzky.
