I don't have a funny response for it, so I'll go for the legit answer.

It's a line from the song "Be Still" off of The Killers latest album "Battle Born". When I listen to it, it's pretty clear that it's a song that the lead singer wrote for his children, as if he's trying to prepare them/give them advice for how the "Real World" works.

I heard that line and thought it was quite a nice sentiment. People can knock you down, say all sorts of things, but it doesn't change who you are, gotta be proud of it.
