When they announced it originally there was a lot of backlash.

i am totally intrigued by this. so i can't wait for it to come on. i like that time period and I do think having a "what if the South won" is an intriguing situation.

Hadn't heard of this- really want to check it out. Kinda sucks that they're starting in modern times, HBO would be the perfect medium for an anthology style adaptation of Harry Turtledove's Timeline 191.

The backlash was stupid. I like the creativity in trying to bring an alt history to mainstream entertainment. Has the potential to be seriously thought provoking tv, and avoid the same tired remakes.

I love how they just jumped to the wish fulfillment/ glorifying slavery angle. I'd bet the portrayal goes one of two ways- dystopian condemnation or not so subtle parallels combining modern systemics racism/ social assistance programs/ prejudices into an institutionalized bundle the holds a mirror up to America now.

It didn't help that it was announced around the time you had Nazi's openly shitting in the streets and running people over.

Not to say that they haven't stopped shitting in the streets.

"Alt-history" is so lame. There are so many amazing stories from the Civil War that a cheap, pornographic, alternative is totally unnecessary

I rather like alternative history. The man in the high castle is a great series. Fatherland on the other hand left much to be desired, specifically with the fact that D-Day failing somehow provided Germany with a win over the Soviets, who would have continued steam rolling Germany regardless.

I guess now we’ll get to see what D&D can do with a blank canvas. With GoT, the quality dropped immensely after the source material ended.

The premise here is very interesting, so I’ll definately give this one a shot.

Looks really good. Like Olvast, I'm a little skeptical of what D&D can do without great source material.
