Thought this would be an interesting topic. My take is that Vinny's contract is not as absurd as some think. (who would have thought that all those years ago playing Junior hockey to-gether in Rimouski that it would come down to this)

Wow, that's actually pretty cool - considering they are the same age/from the same draft class. Lecavalier makes $58.5 million over the next 6 years, and B Richards makes $57 million

If Vinny plays up to his abilities, it's not absurd at all. What is absurd is the money being thrown around by the cap floor rising, making the average NHL rich beyond reason.
