Problem is that Gusev is UFA after his next contract. Give him a 1yr deal and he goes to the highest bidder after that...

Well, he may also pan out beeing a 70-80p guy worth 9M, then its a bargain… His skillset is actually pretty suited for NHL. He is very good on the PP and as a setup man. He also has a very good on-ice-IQ. He is a Marner, Aho like player.

I bet you would. It was Still a 5th ROUND pick offered, not a 5th OA. Carolina took Marleaus contract for a 2020 15-20 pick with a higher caphit, pretty sure 20 teams would have taken Clarkson for the 5OA 2019.
