With two of our current whipping boys seemingly off to new horizons... And someone (to my displeasure) reminding me that Kevin Porter once played for us. Who are the all-time whipping boys of our team?

Don't forget players like Rycroft, Aebischer, Skoula, Arnason, etc.

Rycroft? Or Raycroft?

All time? Probably Skoula or Shantz.

2000s? Take your pick of Raycroft, Aebischer, Budaj, or Theodore.

Post Lockout? By far Arnason.

Skoula  I remember when we traded for Fleury, the Flames wanted Skoula instead of Regehr. We could have had Regehr and Foote clearing the crease.

The Flames could have chose Skoula if they wanted, but unfortunately chose Regehr instead. They had their choice of any Avs prospect except Tanguay.

I thought the Flames wanted Skoula, but we said no and sent Regehr?

My memories are a bit fuzzy, but I don't think I was mad at Tucker. I think the effort was there but he had nothing left in the tank.

Battaglia - Arnason - Jones (imagine if that line ever played together!)
Wolski - Turgeon - Svatos (although he had one good year)
Lacroix - Shantz - Porter
Worrell - Wyatt Smith - May

Skoula - Brisebois
Zanon - Clark
Hunwick - O'Byrne

Theodore
Raycroft

Honorable mentions: McAllister, Nedorost, Budaj, Rycroft, Hlinka, McAmmond, Morris (not really his fault mostly just because he came in a horrible trade...and then was traded away in an even worse one for Chris Gratton and Ossi Vaananen), O'Brien.

Skoula wasn't that bad. Just never reached potential. I mean compared to Hunny and Zanon and Purses he was pretty good.

Also why would you put Liles on that list? He was friggin excellent for us until his last year or two and even then he was better than most other dmen we had at the time.

I think Worrel got more criticism than the Sheriff.

Agreed, but I was replying to the post I quoted. I seem to recall reading somewhere that the Sheriff was the guy the Flames really wanted in the Fleury trade, but the Avs declined to give him up so they took Regehr.
