I personally loved the 90's

So please someone tell me it's the 90's again!

An era where people thought we could evaluate hockey players's defensive performance with +/-!

The 90's were really great

What is wrong with +/-? You do not even need to watch Tkachuk -17 .....Norris -12 and Batherson -17 line, to know they spend most of their shift time in their own zone.
It is actually close to 55%. Batherson is the biggest defensive liability on that line at -31 during his NHL career.
Which number one line in the league spends 55% of their game time in their own zone LOL It was really painfully to watch them running in their own zone. Boom!! Batherson was rewarded with 5 million a season. And Tkachuk's father thinks that 6 million for 7 years is not a legitimate offer )))) They ask 6.5 for three. Exactly for what?

+/- is a bad stat.
News flash on +/-
Non playoff teams have a negative goal differential, playoff teams have a positive goal differential.

The average NHL player salary is $2,554,463 USD for the 2020-21 season. This value is based on 906 player signings, including all buried and two-way contracts. The highest paid player is Auston Matthews at $15,910,000 USD, while 161 players are paid the league minimum of $700,000 USD.

In addition, 520 players (57.4%) earn $1,000,000 USD or more, while 321 players (or 35.4%) make above the league average.

If you take out all the 2-way contracts/ELCs and reclamation projects or vets signing for cheap (ex : Joe Thornton, Jason Spezza), the average salary would probably be over 3.5 M$.

Not that I absolutely wanted to bump this thread but this is some info I could have added before

Here are all the forwards paid 3.4 to 3.5 AAV per season

Alexander Kerfoot
Cal Clutterbuck
J.T. Compher
Brett Connolly
Brandon Tanev
Chris Tierney
Bryan Rust
Lars Eller
Micheal Ferland
Joel Armia
Andreas Johnsson
Paul Byron

Except Rust who will get a pretty nice raise and Eller who is also worth all his money, is White really out of place in that group?
