Strange timing to re-sign an AHL player.

Now we know why he hasn't made any trades. He's focused on extending McDonald.

Could just be the Flyers wanting some stability in LHV. He is the captain of the team. He's only 31 though, so it is a little odd he would give up the option of free agency. :dunno:

Love this. Future Phantoms like Sanheim, Fazleev, Lindblom and AK will have his leadership to lean on.

Yep, having him and Conner around who have: been AHL All-star level players, played meaningful NHL time, NHL playoff games under their belts and a World Champs silver in MacDonalds case, who can still hold their own in the NHL if required to is very nice.

Hextall has talked for a while about believing the Phantoms should be good to and have a great culture in place... and those guys should do just that.

McDonald probably sees the big picture. He knows he's a career AHLer and and besides possible NHL time, facilities are at the top of the list for what's important. And I don't think anyone has it better than LV. I'm sure Hextall probably told him about all the young talent that is gonna be coming though for him to lead and play with.

I'm sure McDonald knows that he's always going to be among the first call-ups as well.

Great opportunity if you want to go into coaching, settle in with a top organization, play with the prospects for a couple years, put together a nest egg, then become a position coach in the AHL before moving up to the big team.
