+ Sid Line: They are ridiculous. They never stop their feet from moving in the o-zone and it causes ALL sorts of problems for defenders. Great puck support, speed, and chemistry. They set the tone for the game.

Also huge props for Sid in the defensive zone. It's something special right now. He's dominating in every zone.

+ Fleury: He calmed the storm every time NY started getting something going. He was a big time calming influence out there. I love when Flower plays SIMPLE hockey as opposed to flopping around. He's so good. I'd rather him give up the amazing goals just to make sure he saves the sure thing. Great game for #29.

Oh yeah.. SHUT OUT!!! Franchise record. Congratulations Flower!!!

+ Defense: Most noticeable was Martin. He was physical and played one of his best games. I can't believe he out muscled Nash and Cally all game. I thought my eyes were playing tricks. Also Orpik played a damn good game, too. They did very well all game.

+ Beau/Neal/DJ: Loved what these guys did today. Beau and Neal looked really noticeable and DJ was great defensively. First time they played like a line. Sunshine is something special. He's so damn good.

+ TK: Good hustle. Still thinking too much, but good hustle. Awarded with a goal.

+ Sutter: Great defensive game.

Minus

- Adams and Glass: Only two I can even put here. Adams can't catch a pass over 5 feet. He misses everything. Glass... is just a worthless player. He's so bad.

- Officiating: Gotta protect players. Can't be inconsistent with that stuff. Someone could have gotten hurt.

For the Rangers:

Cally, Hank, and Nash are the only people who care on their team. They need to trade Gabby to send a message. His laziness was AWFUL.

People making fun of Fleury for not having a shutout since February... um guess they forgot about the whole oct-jan lockout.

You can't have a - just for sake of having a - with a shutout performance.

If we dare have one, it should be the state in which the Rangers played, though...we really shouldn't care.

+ Dupuis. He's feeling it
+ TK and Jeffrey. TK was moving today and actually looking to make plays. Drew a PP then scored on it. Jeffrey with an awesome pass to Duper for his goal.
+ Fleury. Made some sneaky saves on redirects and screens. SHUTOUT.

- Too bad we couldn't have played an NHL-caliber team today. Rags are absolute trash.

Now that's a good post. Your buddy should take notice.

LOL. Do you think we need toughness or not? Your post makes no sense. You ***** at me for saying you guys don't think we need toughness, then you proceed to post that having toughness won't stop anything. And are you happier when Engelland is in or out of the lineup? Seems to me I'm pretty spot on that you guys don't think we need to be a tough team. Am I wrong? It's nothing to be ashamed of. Just a difference of opinion/philosophy.

toughness would help us control the puck, so I'd like more of it. I would love Iginla, Stewart, Malone, Kulemin or whoever. They'd help us be tougher to play against. But I don't think it would do much if anything about cheap shots because when we had more toughness, they took just as many cheap shots. Those guys are more likely to help than Engo or a 4th liner though, because at least they are on the ice at the same time. I think Girardi would still punch Crosby's helmet off today, but maybe Sid wouldn't have to be the guy to hit him back.

Right now, Engelland is just a worse hockey player than Despres and Eaton, and his toughness doesn't make up for it very often lately. I like the toughness he brings, but he just isn't playing well enough for it to be worth it. Its not like Despres is some softy in there either.

The biggest thing we disagree on is what a cheap hit is I think. The hits Malkin has taken this year are good hockey plays that those guys make every time. If they were on our team, I would want them to make those hits. Malkin has been injured on two clean plays.

Yeah they are a complete cluster****. To have Gabby, Nash, and Richards on a team and barely sniff an offensive chance...yikes. Maybe Torts has broken them.

- no points for sid. i dont know why it hasnt happened much yet this year, but teams in the playoffs are going to key on sid the way chara did the other game and girardi did this game. dupuis and kunitz won't be able to pick up the slack in the playoffs.

Great overall team effort. Still don't understand how Glass could have such a secure spot on this roster though. Right now I'd replace him with just about anybody from WBS. I really don't wanna have to see this guy on the ice for us in the playoffs, even if he isn't seeing that much ice time.

+ Pretty much everyone except Tanner Ass. You can always count on him for a completely Pejorative Slured penalty every game.

+ Not playing down to a dead team walking.

+Fleury. He's playing out of his mind right now and he should get the start tomorrow too while he's riding high. I will eat my words for calling him out earlier in the week. Hope he continues the play, his awareness and positioning are spot on.
+Second Line Great production and cycling in the zone, responsible play with the backcheck. Doing all they can do to make the Malkin loss hurt less right now.
+Nealer It's obvious he's missing Geno, while he doesn't look as potent out there he's contributing to whatever line he is on and always finds himself in good positions. The goals will come back.
+Martin What can you say, most improved and our best defensive player right now. Taking the body when he needs to, always on the puck. Not a bit worried when hes on the puck.
+TK Thank you for showing up, I have a feeling you know you're going to get traded so good on you for playing hard regardless of your status. That's gotta be tough to go through.

- The second period let off. I know the rangers came out hard, but you've gotta put the dagger in there sooner. other teams won't be so kind, small gripe but a gripe none the less.

Orpik played his best game in a long time.

Third paring of Despres-Nisky is high playoff caliber.

Not sure I'd love to rely on Eaton with Tanger, but it depends on what Shero does up front.

EDIT: I'm really looking forward to seeing Beau-ner and Neal with Geno again. Malkin played his best hockey all year with those two. As the legend of Beau-ner grows-- and you can just see how confident the kid is becoming-- there really could be something special there if Neal moves his feet.
