Thoughts? Probably a hit he shouldn’t have made, but Cousins’ head was kinda the first thing at shoulder height. Probably doesn’t warrant anything extra, right? Besides maybe a medal? Seriously though, Cousins sucks, so do concussions, not sure mixing the two makes anything better. Glad Nick is alright, yay.

Also- really wish Florida didn’t have that dude, they’re such a likable team otherwise.

The head was at shoulder height, but it wasn't the first thing to hit. Clifton passes by the left shoulder in his approach.

No one wants to see him injured or concussed of course, but not many tears will be shed for Cousins on this forum.

He definitely lowers and drops his head while Clifton already engaged for the hit while reaching for the puck. Zebras must've deteremined it wasn't enough to make head contact unavoidable.

Highly doubt anything else supplemental will come from it

“besides maybe a medal”

I laughed. . . And agreed

Surprised they called that a major. Not unhappy, just surprised.
If haven’t followed how Buffalo has been officiated this year there are several highlight reels on YouTube that will make even the most skeptic person say something is fishy. Benson has about ten penalties you can not imagine and watching them in a row is wild.

remember the one weekend where the same kind of hit was called three ways? And Buffalos was by far the least dangerous or intentional and it was the one that got a major? Amazing season of consistency from official in Buffalo this year

I hope Clifton’s shoulder is ok
Definitely. His shoulder was blindsided by his head. Those are the most dangerous hits to take.

HAte cousins all you want, but he sacrificed his body to chip the puck to gain control. HE took one for the team. That's a hockey play. Clifton went to hit and then Cousins leaned in at the last second to chip the puck. Thats on him. Not Clifton. Just like how somone turns to face the boards at the last second and many times there isn't a call, becasue he turned at the time the player had already commited to the hit.
Unfortunate. But it wasn't intentional. Cousins leans in a tenth of a second after Clifton shifted his feet to brace for the hit.
