They should be better. Most people had them ranked ahead of Regina before the season.
They have 12 major junior grads and 12 junior A grads on the roster. That is (on paper) below that of the conference powers but not out of line with their history, nor that of many current OUA teams.
New forward Chase Schaber has done well (8 goals and 10 assists in 19 games), leading the team in scoring. But he has missed the last 3 games with injury. The injury bug has hurt them. They have typically dressed only 16 players in recent games.
Back to hockey civilization for a moment. It appears that the Lethbridge coaches got hoodwinked by their last recruited class. Need to do a better job at looking underneath all the hockey stories by their recruits. And especially ignore any stories by some of the agents players have. Otherwise, no topend players are going to want to go to this bottom end program. Hopefully they turn it around.
