Thomas Vincour 1990- 2009 eligable

1. Tomas Vincour, C (2009) Edmonton Oilkings (Czech Rep.)
an adequate skater for a player of his size .. decent agility .. stride of average crispness .. needs to develop more explosiveness and upgrade on his footspeed and separation gear .. blessed with above-average leg strength for a kid of his age .. should keep his feet moving to be more effective .. should play a more active game off the puck in the neutral zone to set himself free for a pass .. absorbs open-ice hits well thanks to his strong balance .. a big and aggressive player .. often initiates physical contact and thrives in heavy traffic .. shows a solid defensive awareness and shuts down the passing lanes of the opposition with a strong prowess for a player of his age .. strongest assets are his soft hands and an ability to think the games faster than the opposition .. sets up smart scoring chances for his wingers from both sides of the stick .. a powerplay threat .. dangerous when maneuvering close to the opposing net as he boasts strong in-close finishing skills especially a quick forehand deke .. fires hard blasts .. should further upgrade on the accuracy of the slap shot .. an above-average factor in the faceoff circle .. solid at taking the draws and is able to win important faceoffs in key game situations .. a late '90 born forward .. a right-shooting forward.

Jaroslav Janus- 2008 Eligable G

2. Jaroslav Janus (2008), G Erie Otters (Slovakia)
Tournament wrap-up: best tournament goaltender in save percentage (.9444) .. finished second among tournament goaltenders in minutes played (124:34) .. finished third among tournament goaltenders in GAA (1.44) .. Slovak starter on the tournament .. registered strong back-to-back performances in the games against Sweden and Switzerland .. showed above-average poise .. stayed square to the shooter and could make key saves when it was needed most .. saw lots of rubber behind the porous Slovak defense .. showed a willingness to move the puck regularly .. boosted his stock for the 2008 draft .. the Slovak MVP on this tournament by a fair margin after a good performance.

Scouting: blessed with okay size .. moves efficiently in the crease and stays square to the shooter .. decent side-to-side movement for a big man .. above-average footspeed for a player of his size .. decent reflexes .. strong anticipation of plays ranks among his strongest assets .. okay resilience and athleticism but still could use more dexterity .. relies on his fundamentals rather than on acrobatic saves .. doesn't seem to feel any noticeable pressure .. possesses above-average fundamentals and doesn't flop around in the crease .. stays square to the shooter .. patient on the scoring chances .. waits for the opponent to make the first move .. doesn't allow many rebounds .. hard to beat down low .. gets back up in okay time .. okay orientation in the crease .. tough to beat on the initial shot .. cuts the angles adequately well .. willing to go out of the crease to limit the options of the shooter .. decent handling of the rebounds .. a decent glove hand .. doesn't show trouble with shots aiming at his blocker .. a solid stickhandler .. willing to go behind the net to play the puck .. doesn't really stand out in any asset but gets the job done with above-average effectiveness .. a late '89 born goaltender.

Robert Mayer- 2008 Eligable G

3. Robert Mayer (2008), G Saint John Sea Dogs (Switzerland)
Tournament wrap-up: looked better than Damiano Ciaccio but was slotted for the backup role due to his low previous international experience .. saw playing action in the game against Czech Republic .. showed above-average reactions and solid reflexes .. held the Swiss chances on a success in this game .. made a solid use of the chance he got and is worth another look after an okay tournament.

Scouting: possesses decent size tools .. an okay skater .. decent lateral movement .. stays square to the shooter .. possesses above-average footspeed for a player of his size .. tough to beat down low .. decent reflexes and flexibility .. solid anticipation of plays .. reacts calmly and properly to the situation .. relies more on his fundamentals and poise rather than on acrobatic saves .. handles pressure without noticeable problems .. doesn't go down too early and waits for the opponent to make the first move .. hard to beat down low .. gets back up quickly .. doesn't allow many rebounds .. angles the shots well .. okay orientation in the crease .. tough to beat on the initial shot .. plays an active game even if lying on his back .. willing to go out of the crease to limit the options of the shooter .. decent handling of the rebounds .. a decent glove hand .. doesn't show trouble with shots aiming at his blocker .. a decent stickhandler .. uses the stick well to pinch the puck from the opposing players.

Mikkel Bodker-2008 Eligable D

5. Mikkel Bodker (2008), D Kitchener Rangers (Denmark)

A very speedy player. Bödker accelerates extremely well. He has good technical skills and often likes to challenge the defenseman. Has a decent shot, but needs to improve his goal scoring IMO, cause he is that type of player that is expected to score goals. A quite spectacular and offensive mindes player. Is on the short side at about 5'10. At this point, I do not see Bödker being picked in the top rounds, but I would not be surprised if he goes in the 4-6th rounds. A lot can and will happen before draft day, though.

Tomas Knotek

6. Thomas Knotek (2008), C Halifax Mooseheads (Czech Rep.)

Tomas Knotek, C (2008)
a decent skater .. uses a short quick stride .. okay agility and first-step quickness .. could use upgrading on top-end speed .. average balance on his skates .. doesn't keep his feet moving which seriously hurts his effectiveness in fast-paced games .. bigger and physical opponents cause him problems .. a solid stickhandler with an above-average hand-eye coordination .. uses both sides of the stick blade precisely when making a pass or corraling a pass .. could make smoother puck moves when pressed in heavy traffic .. very patient with the puck, waiting for the plays to present themselves and then making a decision .. times his passes well and can use his linemates smartly .. decent in-close finishing skills .. fires a quick wrist shot .. slap shot of adequate accuracy should be upgraded in terms of hardness .. willing to return to defense .. adequately smart when blocking the opposing passing lanes .. isn't a player who would thrive under the physical style and wanders on the perimeter when the play gets physical .. doesn't lay many hits on the opponents and should get stronger .. traffic play is an issue .. doesn't crash the net and avoids mucking in the corners .. consistency is an issue .. adequate in the faceoff circle.

Huh!? He's a better prospect than Lars Eller. He'll be a top 30 pick. Is this your own opinion? Because it's pretty far off from the truth.

From a guy that said :
Disagree. I want Sutter.

This is MY top 5.
What has Sutter shown to warrant a top 20 selection?

Could you stop being arrogant and shut up sometime?

Milan Kytnar

7. Milan Kytnar (2007- 127th overall), C Kelowna Rockets (Slovakia)

Milan Kytnar (2007), C
Tournament wrap-up: gave his best efforts on every shift the exhibition game against USA but was noticeably limited by his average skating ability .. repeated the same intense showing also in the tournament opener against Sweden, filling a two-way role .. filled the role of a defensive center conscientiously and tried to make use of his size tools yet didn't become a physically intimidating factor .. was an easy target for the Canadian players when quitting to move his feet in the third game .. stayed back in a defensive role in the final game against Finland .. did the little things and played an okay game on the penalty killing units .. filled his role conscientiously but would need more productivity for a better rating.

Scouting: an average skater .. needs to upgrade on his first-step quickness and acceleration .. adequate agility .. average top-end speed hurts his effectiveness .. average turns .. possesses above-average balance and lower-body strength .. tough to get knocked off his feet .. should keep his feet moving to be more effective .. gets easily blocked by opponents .. a diligent two-way forward .. willing to drive the net hard .. plays with an edge and is a decent hitter along the boards but his physical awareness is inconsistent .. can throw a surprising hit on the opponents .. adequate puckhandling skills .. should make more nifty moves with his stick to be more effective in one-on-one situations .. can gain the offensive zone for his team .. willing to play dump-and-chase .. adequate hockey sense .. doesn't have the needed creativity to be an effective passer in the offensive zone .. fires a hard wrist shot .. hard slap shot should be less telegraphed .. should be more patient once on the scoring chance .. should develop smoother in-close finishing skills .. solid defensive awareness .. shuts down the passing lanes of the opposition and stays with his man .. effective on the backcheck .. limits the options of the opponent adequately well .. a solid asset on penalty killing units .. solid at picking his spots and finding open space .. an average factor in the faceoff circle .. should block the opposing center more effectively after a faceoff.

:biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:

I still don't think Sutter is a top 20 pick. A guy that completely stalled in his development after the 1st half, to me, is not worth a top 20 pick and thank God he was off the board before the Rangers pick so they would have no thought in taking him.

Bödker is likely to go over, yes. Very likely, from what I've heard and read.

What's the feeling over there about that? Are you guys a bit disappointed? I think it's pretty awesome for the CHL to get a guy like Bodker since he's such a highly regarded prospect. And it could really help his draft status if he comes over here and plays as well as he should be able to.

From a Danish POV, it'd be a shame if he misses out on playing with the senior NT, which he has a good shot at doing throughout the season, but going to the OHL could really help his development. And since Denmark are in the top group at the WJC's now, he can still go there and play.

Michal Jordan

8. Michal Jordan (2008 Eligable), D Windsor Spitfires (Czech Rep.)

Michal Jordan, D (2008)
a smallish defenseman who is likely to add more inches to his frame due to his genetics .. a decent skater .. possesses okay acceleration but still could develop a smoother stride and bigger top-end speed .. adequate hustle and acceleration .. doesn't beaten on turns and when asked to move laterally .. average balance and lower-body strength .. gets knocked off his feet by bigger opponents .. decent puckhandling skills but shows a tough time when having to deal with difficult passes on the backhand side .. is at his best when playing a simple game with the puck .. fires a quick accurate snap shot .. slap shot needs to be harder .. a solid force in his own zone with his defensive prowess .. above-average positional play in the defensive zone .. isn't very effective on powerplay units as he doesn't have the vision to quarterback them but is good on the penalty killing units .. isn't very willing to throw the occasional hit and his physical play shows considerable reserves .. average crease-clearer .. okay defensive instincts and hockey sense .. plays with his head up .. spots his man quickly and stays with him .. plays a team-orientated game .. sacrifices his body to block the opposing shots .. is likely to blossom once adding more inches and bulk.

Bødker is a projected first rounder in 08.. perhabs even amongst the first 10 picks, so i think your views on him are a bit off compared to the scouts :handclap:

Vladimir Roth

11. Vladimir Roth (2008 Eligable), D London Knights (Czech Rep.)

Vladimir Roth (2008), D
Tournament wrap-up: second-most penalized Czech player (6 PIM) .. paired with partner from Slavia Praha juniors Jiri Jebavy .. asked to fill a two-way role .. skating turned out to be a legitimate drawback against the flashy and quick Russian forwards in the tournament opener .. scored the only Czech goal against Russia .. was very confident in his shooting skills in the second game against Finland but was prone to too 'wild' offense which led to a number of mistakes with the puck .. played a decent two-way game against USA and distributed the pucks in a more smart way .. avoided getting outskated and supported the forwards well in the final game against Switzerland .. played a solid tournament and his two-way potential remains obvious but a number of holes in his game was revealed here against top competition.

Scouting: a lanky blueliner who still needs to grow into his frame .. a decent skater for a player of his size but skating still needs further upgrading .. blessed with decent straightaway speed .. lacks a separation gear .. okay agility .. needs to develop a better first-step quickness .. okay lateral movement .. doesn't get beaten on turns very often .. skating should upgrade with more lower-body strength .. an offensive-minded defenseman .. often joins the rush and supports the offense .. distributes accurate passes on both short and long distance .. moves the puck out of his own end .. a solid puckhandler who likes to have the puck on his stick .. corrals difficult passes smoothly with his skates .. capable of a quick move .. very good creativity .. solid vision and hockey sense .. okay powerplay quarterback but occasionally prone to overhandling the puck .. very confident in his shooting skills .. willing to let his hard slap shot go but still needs to upgrade on accuracy .. makes quick smooth takeaways .. doesn't play afraid and can throw a decent hit, but should use his body to a bigger extent and hit more often .. adequate defensive play .. spots his man quickly but should stay with him all the way .. should show a bigger conscientiousness when playing in his own end .. only adequate defensive positioning .. should learn when to join the rush and when to stay back .. occasionally dives .. a right-shooting defenseman .. a '90 born underager.
