I had wondered given the limited options now, that Payton in Denver wouldn't have given Wentz a shot assuming that he doesn't love either Nix/Penix who should be on the board at 12. They don't have a 2nd so, they can't trade back up into round 1 to select one of them.

Broncos could always trade down while adding picks as option and select either Nix or Penix with later 1st or early 2nd acquired

I think Penix is an early 2nd at best at this point
