So regardless if Struble has a great camp, and kovacevic or Barron has a brutal camp, they wont waive? That is really good way to motivate players.. Barron is nothing special. Big chance he passes waivers unclaimedBarron won't hit the waivers lol.

Struble Hutson Reinbacher Mailloux in the AHL as they dont need to hit waivers
Hughes will aend his other dman down before losing one for nothing. He showed last year with Primeau that he won't lose an asset for free
When Winnipeg will look stupid with 3AHL dman on their roster, they can come crawling back from a position of weakness rhen.
Better hitter: one average 2.9hits/game and the other 1.9hits/game. Not even closeAll of those are highly debatable except for age.

Can't be Gallagher. He has a NMC, thanks to Bergevin. Maybe Anderson, though. Was Primeau anything special?
At the end if the day MTL won't give any teams free asset. We can carry 8 dman if we want and send a guy we don't need / want like Gallagher/any other player we do not need or has no value
Cant be? Hutson will be in the AHL? Pretty sure he is the Calder winner in 24-25. Something has got to give.Barron won't hit the waivers lol.

Hutson will play in the AHL, because as mentionne Kent Hughes will manage his assets in a way where, if he can't trade them, he'll keep themCant be? Hutson will be in the AHL? Pretty sure he is the Calder winner in 24-25. Something has got to give.
The Habs have built up a great collection of young D. Several look very promising. At some point Montreal wants to be competitive again, right? Cant keep finishing bottom 5 every year but claim all your D are superior to other teams players.
Not sure where you get the Jets will have 3 AHL D on the roster, either. Just making stuff up?
That's nice that you can guarantee that Dillion, and Demelo aren't coming back, makes a nice narrative. Sort of like PLD would only come to MTL so you could have him for whatever, you wanted to send our way. (Not saying you guys didn't avoid a bullet there)Hutson will play in the AHL, because as mentionne Kent Hughes will manage his assets in a way where, if he can't trade them, he'll keep them
And Jets are likely losing 3 dman to UFA, with zero depth in the AHL and no cap space. So yah they'll be playin 2-3 AHLEr / terrible dman unless they move.
Therefore they deal from a position of weakness and will likely overpay for said help
Don't go overplaying your hand and expecting desperation from Winnipeg, there are 30 other teams who might well have someone to offer.Hutson will play in the AHL, because as mentionne Kent Hughes will manage his assets in a way where, if he can't trade them, he'll keep them

Agreed.Don't go overplaying your hand and expecting desperation from Winnipeg, there are 30 other teams who might well have someone to offer.
I'd suggest Barron, Harris and Struble should be of interest since they have plenty of potential for growth while still having shown that they are NHLers, though seasoning is still required.
Instead of playing pretend GM and devalue the other teams players, I wish people would try and be objective and figure out who might be a fit for a trade.
Your blind bias is showing.Hutson will play in the AHL, because as mentionne Kent Hughes will manage his assets in a way where, if he can't trade them, he'll keep them

But Harris, Struble and Barron aren't "very capable NHL dmen". They are young guys who've shown NHL qualities but still need to be developped. Barron probably has the highest upside but also the lowest floor, Struble might be a Chiarot-type in his prime, but hasn't shown that yet, and Harris is probably going to be a complementary piece if he's in the top-4, the kind of guy fans want to get rid of but coaches keep around until a kid really takes his place and he ends up having a journeyman label at the end of his carreer.Agreed.
But then again why would Havs trade 22-24yo very capable NHL dman unless they receive a 22-24yo very capable middle 9 F?
Unless Jets send them that, they aren't getting our young dman. And Jeta dont have a ton of 22-24 middle 9 F beside Perfetti. Kupari ain't it
So how does that make my argument about trading such young dman vs F that showed they were able to contribute at the NHL level.false? But Harris, Struble and Barron aren't "very capable NHL dmen". I just thought you were over-hyping them. I'd want forwards who've played and looked ok in the NHL (ie, better than Ylonen or Pezzetta) but we can't be expecting players who've proven all that much. A Winnipeg equivalent to Joshua Roy would be the best we could possibly hope for.So how does that make my argument about trading such young dman vs F that showed they were able to contribute at the NHL level.false?
Cause those 3 showed they could handle NHL duties. They will still improve but all of them are at the very least bottom pairing dmans.
Trading them for suspects like Kupari wpuld be stupid

Kupari showed he can play in nhl. Jets just have better options, comes with being a playoff team.So how does that make my argument about trading such young dman vs F that showed they were able to contribute at the NHL level.false?

I won't pretend to know Jets' prospects/young NHLers, so I really don't know. But perhaps someone else can suggest which Jets youngish forwards has shown similar promise - looking like NHLers, but neither core pieces nor pure filler. And beside Perfetti, who looks like a Josh Roy there?
No one
David Gustafson? It’s tough, jets are competing and unwilling to give young guys a chance so it’s harder to break into the line up than a younger team.I won't pretend to know Jets' prospects/young NHLers, so I really don't know. Yah... His 1pt in 30game.as.a 24yo reallt showed promises as a top6 F...Kupari showed he can play in nhl. Jets just have better options, comes with being a playoff team.
He’s not a top 6 player, but, the guys you are offering aren’t dynamos either. No one is trading for Barron to be in our top 4. We would be hoping for a number 6 or 7. If he had potential and trending to be a top 6 we’d get a heck of a lot more than Barron, struggle or Harris in a trade.Yah... His 1pt in 30game.as.a 24yo reallt showed promises as a top6 F...
Which also makes it hard to figure out who has real potential looking to be unlocked, and who has no real potential to be more than depth filler.David Gustafson? It’s tough, jets are competing and unwilling to give young guys a chance so it’s harder to break into the line up than a younger team.
Barron has top-4 potential, the question is if he can improve his defensive intensity level enough, because if so, he could be a Jeff Petry level player. He’s not a top 6 player, but, the guys you are offering aren’t dynamos either. Yep, lot of fans want to adjust to a system where we incorporate more youth like Dallas.Which also makes it hard to figure out who has real potential looking to be unlocked, and who has no real potential to be more than depth filler.
And Kupari could be a top 6 player in the right setting, but, none of them are that right now.Which also makes it hard to figure out who has real potential looking to be unlocked, and who has no real potential to be more than depth filler.

Harris and Struble are destined to be complementary players... but either/both could end up as #4s under the right circumstances.
