He was actually at Flames rookie camp a few years back. The Flames, especially Conroy are familiar with him. Makes a lot of sense To claim him.

Followed his junior career, slowly developed into NHL level d-man
just couldn't find a role from Vegas, good pick up for Calgary

Liked what I saw of him with Vegas. Nothing mind shattering, but hopefully better than most of the AHL level D we've rotated on the bottom pair since the Zadorov move.
