Our AHL team is depleted as shit right now. We need some warm bodies.

I thought Myers would have came back in a trade with Vancouver.

Makes sense, as they need dmen with NHL experience, under contract/control next year. With Tanev and Hanifin up in the air, it may not be their last claim either.

Makes a lot of sense. Flames need stopgap bodies. He’s got the potential to be a serviceable bottom pairing guy.

He will definitely be in the Flames NHL group as of now and almost certainly a third pairing starter by the time the Flames off-load everybody.

The rumour r is that the flames just put out a large multi-year offer for Hanifin and are waiting for an answer back from him first on whether he accepts.

Love to hear it. Conroy seems to view the team the same as me. I'd be happy to re-sign Hanifin but if he doesn't you gotta trade him.

Somehow that type of thinking has been lacking in Calgary for decades.

Just saw on CapGeek he's signed for 775 1 way next year, so the club must see him as an NHLer for next year. If we do move Hanifin & Tanev, Kylington & Pachal may just be our 2nd pairing next year.

At minimum salary, it doesnt matter for the cap

We passed on so many guys going through waivers the last few weeks I was starting to doubt we had any intention of picking up someone to push Oesterle out of the lineup. He has to be better than Oesterle right?
Yes, he has to be better than Oesterle. Of course so was DeSimone. I'm not saying DeSimone is good, but he's better than Oesterle.
