Playoff success is a fickle mistress....I suspect if Tkachuk doesn't get hurt the Flames find a way to defeat the Stars and the narrative is totally different.

That would havve meant being embroiled in another series with the Av's, where I suspect the result would have been the same as last season. But at least the media and Flames fans wouldn't be urging the front office to 'blow it up' by trading Gaudreau, Monahan or any other player who isn't tied down to a long term contract.

especially the J.G. trade, Middles is looking bust and reinhart is a middle six. just give him his plane ticket then and say goodbye, it would make the gilmour trade look acceptable. starting point for trading J.G. first round pick, top prospect, good to very good roster, MINIMUM. a third, middlestat, and a middle sixer. like i said just give him away.

bennet is not going anywhere without massive overpay.

The only thing worse than this trade proposal here is your hot take. Reinhart is a middle 6 but you need a massive overpay for Sam Bennett.

With that logic why would the Sabres trade reinhart for anything less than a massive overpay?
