Celebrini may end up being the more complete player.

But I expect the Devils to have some success in the near future so Hughes may win some hardware.

Would be pretty risky business to pick Celebrini for either better career or better player. Jack Hughes was a home run pick.

Here is a complete list of players to score at a higher rate (points/60) than Jack Hughes from ages 20-22 since 2006

Sidney Crosby (3.74)
Connor McDavid (3.89)

Jack Hughes is at 3.6, Ovi and Malkin trail right behind

Then a gap to 3.41 where you get to Pasta and Matthews

Healthy-Huhges is pretty incredible, Celebrini might be better in terms of availability, but everything has to go right for him to reach the level of Hughes at his best in ability.

Celebrini very easily. I guess a lot of you haven't been watching him dominate the NCAA this year.

Hughes is also an injury prone mess.

Laf's doing fine thank you. The third best forward on the Presidents' trophy winning team. How are the playoffs going?
probably would go farther in said playoffs if they had Stutzle, Raymond, Jarvis, or even Mercer. You forgot to mention Kakko, Are you just trying to forget he exists?

LOL, sweet take. The LMAO Lafreniere is a bust takes are about a year too late. Lafreniere has more even strength points than Mercer has total points. Educate yourself.

Kakko's fine. Will not likely live up to #2 overall but is a solid role player.

A bit cherry picked though, since you are pulling his first two years, and it's a higher-scoring era. If you just did their first 4 years, Matthews passes him significantly (both entered in their d+1 so that is a fair starting point).

You take Hughes in this scenario if you have faith in him staying healthy. Celebrini will bring a better 2 way game but isn't as dynamic offensively.

Laf 297 games played 148pts
Mercer 246 games played 131pts.

I mean...I guess Mercer could not get a point in 66 games?:dunno:

What does Laf or the Rangers have ANYTHING to do with the question or poll?? Living rent free....
you're existence in this thread makes Laf and the rangers relevant.

Don't be coy, YOU know WHAT you are, even though you aren't good at it.

I see Hughes as the better prospect and player. There are some injury concerns, but in my opinion he's significantly more skilled.
