Well, last season was unreal for him and he averaged 3.2 shots per game. His 2nd best year for both points and shot total he averaged slightly under 3 shots per game. So it's not like having "only" 2 shots on goal in a game is somehow unusual for him.

But I'm not a fan of how NHL tracks shots since they only counts the ones on goal, you could have a game where you only attempt two shots and hit both on net and another game where you have 10 but miss 6 of them and hit the posts twice and in both games you have "2 shots" in the official stats, so if you only look at the S-column on NHL.com for a single game, it doesn't really tell you much of anything.

I love how we’re resigned and discouraged and sometimes even a little suspicious even though the outcome matches our hopes.
