Basically a lottery ticket , teeny tiny chance you get Zetterberg, Byufglien, Lundvqist or Pavelski
Dzingel himself too... You never know.

Hell someone like Batherson didn't get drafted the first time around, and then hit a massive growth spurt, went in the 4th round the second time around, and now looks like a near lock as an NHL top 6. Someone could have easily snagged him in the 7th round of that first draft.

Going to be so much fail here when CBJ misses the playoffs and loses Duchene, Dzingel, Panarin, and Bob to UFA. They're a bubble team with all of them. Going to be a lottery team without them next season.

Assuming they do sneak in, they'll likely get the Penguins or Capitals in the first round. Have fun there.
They gonna be a lottery team either way next season so why not go out with a bang.

Columbus has a deadly looking roster after getting Duchene and Dzingel...

Sheesh that team looks nice in every area...
They won't look that nice in a couple of years if they don't win the cup after overpaying so much for a 40 point player and sending 1st round picks for a guy who wont re-sign.

Not all trades are strictly win/loss.

Also, I never said the trade was bad for Ottawa whatsoever. It's just silly to suggest that Ottawa strategically traded Dz to CBJ to commit them to the play-offs. That's absurd.
Its not as silly as you seem to think it is ...Panarin is Stone,s only real competition ,do you not think PD knows this???Iam sure he would have brought this up ,before he traded two of his UFA,s to CLB

The bolded conflict with each other. It will only be one 1st round pick if he doesn't re-sign. It's like you have an agenda. CBJ bad and if they sold things off they will suck or if the went for they will suck next year. You will shit on the franchise either way. Either be more constructive and accurate with your criticism or get the f*** out.

They sign both Duchene and Dzingle ,and let Panarin and Bob go after their run in the offseason

I can’t see Duchene staying there if those two guys leave. I mean the team is average at best at that point in time and has very few draft picks to work with. Unless he wife is a massive factor in the decision and wants to remain in Columbus he’s almost certainly walking if Panarin and Bob walk

cbus is going to be an absolute mess next year and moving forward if Bob, Panarin, Duchene or Dzingel bolt in the off season or bob and panarin via trade today/tomorrow. Not to mention any other UFA's they have besides the aforementioned.

Even though the chances of (2) 2nds both becoming NHL players is roughly 20%

One of the two becoming an NHL regular , around 40%

A 1st round pick becoming an NHL regular , over 80%

For every PK Subban there are 100 guys in some C league in Europe , the ECHL , AHL or running academies and clinics for local youth

Never talk about the generic first rounder. Always put it in context as to it's expected position. While it may be true that there is an 80% chance that a first rounder makes it, there is a massive difference between 1st overall and 31st overall.

What would you rather have a 1st overall or four 31st overalls?

Still a lot to build around in Columbus, even if those guys don't sign. Atkinson, PLD, Anderson, Jones, Werenski, etc.

lol in a few years the team wont look nice because 2 2nds for Dzingle and 1 1st if you claim he isnt resigning for Duchene as the youngest team in the league who kept all 4 top prospects... TSN look out future star broadcaster here!!!

Don't unpack your suitcase Duclair. History shows us that he will be on the move again
