If you are edmonton, would you trade your 10th oa pick for 42nd oa + Justin faulk?

Would help the oilers out with an offensive minded defenseman. Their highest scoring dman last year was Nurse I believe with 26 points. Faulk is fairly young and it would boost their pp for a while. 42nd is also a pretty decent place to pick.

Carolina gets:
10th oa

Edmonton gets:
Faulk + 42nd oa

Faulk is worth the #10 on his own. No need for the Canes to add their 2nd.

Ya, why not trade a high 1st for a one dimensional Dman with declining numbers the last 4 seasons.

How about no?

Edmonton fans have soured on Faulk for some time now. If we're going to give up major pieces for a Dman, we may as well go big for someone who could be in our top pairing.

The tale of the 26 year old declining Faulk. Over these 4 years of "declining numbers" Faulk is #7 in the NHL with 56 goals and top-30 in the NHL with 154 points. In 2016-17, nearing the end of this "decline", Faulk was tied for #2 in the league with 17 goals. I have a sneaking suspicion that you don't actually ever watch Faulk and you don't even know what you mean when you say "declining numbers".

The main thing that declined for Faulk last year was Shooting %:
2014-15: 6.3%
2015-16: 8.7%
2016-17: 7.6%
2017-18: 3.8%

Wonder if that will regress to the mean or if he just forgot how to shoot at the ripe old age of 25?
