Greetings to all,

During this COVID season I thought I would waste my company time giving you an update on the progress and a new ranking of my top prospects in the Carolina system.

1) (thrillin') Dylan Cozens (6 overall 2019). He has utterly destroyed the WHL this year. He has the size and skill to dominate. I expect him to start the next season (whenever that is) with Buffalo (third line?)

2) Nils Lunqvist. (38 overall 2018) There seems to be an issue with a logjam on D in the NYR roster? I expect him to be moved to NA next year and flip between Hartford and the big club. Power play specialist.

3) David Farrance. (80 overall 2017) This is the prospect with the most improvement this season. David scored 14 (!) goals this year in college. That is unheard of from a defenseman in the NCAA. For some reason he is staying in college for his senior season. Would have preferred him to go pro.

4)Max Gildon, (48 overall 2017) Max has great size and good skating and is the teams PPQB for his team. He almost averaged a point per game which in the NCAA is very difficult. We should be seeing him in The Florida Panther system soon.

5) Calen Addison (33 overall 2018) Calen has not been able to improve on his point total from his draft year but he has improved his defensive game. He still maintains a first PP unit skillset for the NHL. He was drafted by Pittsburgh and traded to Minnesota in the Jason Zucker trade. Time will tell if this helps Calen get to the NHL sooner.

6) Tobias Bjornfot (30 overall 2019) Tobias initially made the Kings roster at the start of the season. The team wisely sent him to the AHL within the 10 game window so he can play first pair minutes in Ontario. I do not expect a lot of points. I do expect him to play a ton of minutes and on both special teams.

7)Kaedan Korczak (56 overall 2019) Kaedan does not project to be a point producer in the NHL. He did increase his point total (33 up to 49) and increased his plus/minus (i know it is a lame stat) from -6 to plus 7. He does not project to be a top pair guy by any strech but he should make the NHL in time.

NEXT TIER DOWN

Ivan Lodnia RW 49 overall 2017- signed his ELC with Minnesota. Will play in the AHL next season.
Filip Kral 131 overall 2018 - signed his ELC with Toronto
Kevin Mandolese 69 (hehe) overall 2018 - signed his ELC with Ottawa. finished with a .925 SV%
Oliver Rodrigue 62 overall 2018 - was invited to the Canada world junior camp
Case McCarthy 105 overall 2019 - scored 12 points at BU in his freshman season

big fan of david farrance from watching boston games for dom fensore. farrance could work an nhl powerplay right now and that's super rare to find fresh out of the box. curious decision to come back for a senior season (not to mention blocking fensore!) but it shouldn't hurt him too much long term. he's going to be a player.

Cozens is the MAN, as you know, but I like Rodrigue as a long-term project. And Addison has a shot in this new NHL to be an impact player too, failing that a third pairing/PP specialist.
