'Canes down 7-1 midway through third. Police storm the ice and arrest Joe Corvo on a warrant for public indecency due to complaints about his haircut. 'Canes immediately score six unanswered goals to tie the game, then Eric wins the game in a shootout. Joe Corvo's contract is terminated.

Nah, he's shipped to Montreal to be with his bff Cole. We get Tomas Kaberle in return.

I'm saying 3 of the Staals, Semin, and Skinner get at least a goal apiece. Someone of that group has a monster night. We blow out the Panthers. And then I wake up the day after a 9-1 loss where Ward decimated his groin.

Amazingly, the most UNLIKELY thing in the above statement is Staal scoring in the shootout. Not happening.

Remember the Emmitt Smith era of the NFL, when players would pull their helmets off after touchdowns?

Right now, it's time for the Joe Corvo era of the NHL. Score goal, throw off helmet and wave his shiny locks while pointing to his star.

yeah I can imagine that things are going to be rather wild the next few days in that regard. I honestly would be shocked if we didn't have a packed house more often then not this season. A lot of the anger about losing the season may be dieing off from the diehards (though I know quite a few on individual games instead of STHs right now) and if the team gets off to the kind of start I'm expecting the bandwagon will be there in a big way.

OK, if Muller really does love the Sanguinetti-Harrison pairing, and if JR mentioned Sanguinetti by name as a guy who needs to play in the NHL, where does that leave Joe Corvo? Could he really be a healthy scratch? Or will we dress seven d-men?

Faulk/Gleason/Pitkanen/McBain are set in stone, right?

Chip just tweeted that McBain is currently considered as the seventh defenseman.

Nope. McBain's been the one paired with Murphy, looks like he might be the healthy scratch to start the year...

Right now, McBain has been the odd man out.
