Honestly he was the clear winner based on the actual criteria of the award, but lately it's been the biggest sob story award so I'm shocked he won.

He's the ideal role model and put everything he had into returning this year, when so many guys just LTIRetired in the same circumstances(Already paid, aging, having to play through great physical pain to even play at a basic level); And he's trying to do it again next year.

Congrats Carey. I know that many people think he should retire and/or want him gone, but I hope he bounces back to top 5 form and plays out his contract in Montreal. And I don't think that's just wishful thinking, I truly believe it's possible. Not probable, but definitely possible.

I remember the calls for Markov to retire during his knee injuries, people saying he was finished and injury prone. But he worked hard and came back, played 5 seasons and added about 200 points. Missed only 2 games in those first 4 seasons back, and 20 in his final season.

Dedication to the game can do this. This is what the Masterton trophy is about and Price deserves it.

It's deserved, Price is a role model despite his struggles and a guy I have nothing but admiration for even if his contract is a big mistake (fully the fault of Bergevin). I'm not optimistic but I'm fine seeing if he has one last run in him.
